Simplicity
KISS, keep it stupid simple. Complexity kills productivity, so I cut through it to find what actually works. Simplicity is a design choice, not a lack of depth.
About
I am Remy. Dutch, living in Kuala Lumpur with my wife and our two kids. Twenty-five years in IT, fifteen of them on Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform, with a lot of .NET underneath. These days I am Solution Development Manager at Avanade Malaysia.
Most of those fifteen years went on architecture, integrations and migrations for companies like TNT Express, AkzoNobel and Heineken, usually on the parts nobody volunteers for.
Does this still earn its keep? A connector, a mapping file, a build step, a subscription, a process someone automated years ago that nobody has questioned since. Most of it was a reasonable answer to a problem that has since changed.
Applied to a process, that turns into a rule I have used for years: I simplify before I automate. Most teams take a broken process, wire it up in Power Automate, and wonder why it is still slow. I question the process first. Fixing it is less impressive in a demo and it is the part that holds.
KISS, keep it stupid simple. Complexity kills productivity, so I cut through it to find what actually works. Simplicity is a design choice, not a lack of depth.
I start from trust, not control. People get autonomy, ownership and the freedom to move fast. No endless approvals, no micromanagement. If something breaks, we fix it, no blame.
Opinions shaped by 25 years of delivery, held lightly. That makes me a collaborative sparring partner who challenges ideas, improves them, and keeps the team focused on what actually works.
Designing the thing and then building it. Most of my work has been where systems meet: the integration nobody wants to touch, the migration everyone has been putting off, the deploy step everyone does by hand and nobody writes down.
